Response

After pairing up and reading a classmate’s blog I found many similarities and differences with our experiences with the Internet for the first time. We both agreed that the noise was something no one liked and that the chat rooms/e-mails were the big things back then. I talked about Facebook, and Twitter, but I was reminded of MySpace after reading her article. If you ask me MySpace was sort of the foundation to these new social media websites. When the internet first came out we both were younger so we had to deal with out parents blocking all the sites that we knew wasn’t appropriate for us to be on but we still would try to find ways to access them.

She stated that she had to share the web with her sister, luckily for me my sister wasn’t that interested in the computer so for me I could surf the web as long as I wanted. She brought up a conversation she had with her father recently and we also agree how some people feel that with all the new technology available, people are becoming very, VERY lazy. Besides that we both agree that the Internet makes communication quicker and much easier than before. The only real negative that stuck out about the first time using the Internet was the fact that the Internet exposes children to sex predators and many other harmful things.
